Tatiana Gul was born on October 23rd, 1984 in New York City, New York. She was born to a well-off family. However, despite this fact, her early years transpired to be difficult. At a young age, she lost her mother to a drug overdose. The loss of her mother was the very first time Tatiana was required to learn how to adjust quickly. Then again a year later when her father married again and introduced not only just a new “mother” but also a sister into Tatiana’s life. It all felt too quick and unfair for Tatiana but she had little say against her strict father.
School was Tatiana’s getaway. While she felt unloved at home, she felt loved at school. However, Tatiana’s straight As and all her involvement in after school programs and sports meant nothing to her father. All of this was already expected of her.
Right after graduating from high school, she fell in ‘love.’ The summer of 2002 was intense for Tatiana and her boyfriend. It was so intense that it didn’t leave the young couple much room to think about the possible consequences that could result from their impulsive romance. Therefore, it appalled Tatiana when she discovered she was pregnant by the time she moved to Massachusetts to attend Harvard University.
Young and lost, she seemed to have no choice but to tell her father. But knowing this news would outrage him and that he would try to identify the father of her child, she decided to keep it a secret from her ex-boyfriend and create a story for her father. After hearing Tatiana’s story for the thousandth time about how it happened at a party with an unknown stranger, he reluctantly offered to help Tatiana financially.
Tatiana gave birth to a son and decided it was best to take the year off and return to school the next year. As planned, she eventually returned to Harvard and graduated with two degrees, Bioengineering and Business. While Tatiana did successfully manage to graduate in four years, she found attending school and raising a child challenging. She felt that her son wasn’t receiving the amount of attention and love he deserved from her, so Tatiana eventually broke the truth to the father of her son and left him in his care.
Being able to leave her son in his father’s care allowed Tatiana to pursue an MBA as well as other ambitions. In 2007, Tatiana established a start-up, Leviathan Labs, in Boston, Massachusetts. Since then, Leviathan Labs has become a reputable science and technology research laboratory.
In her youth, Talia travelled the world with her father learning from his intellect and skills, and she proved to be more competent than any of Ghul's other children. She excelled in managing his criminal and legitimate operations, and she was eventually appointed as Ghul's primary secondary, despite the fact that Ghul considers women to be inherently inferior to men. Ghul is supportive of his daughter, though he has commented that, if possible, he would correct "that sole failing" in his child, suggesting that he fears any possible distortion of her through chemical or biological modifications that might result due to her as gender.
